EDG member organisations are asked to endorse our signing of a letter to Rt. Hon. David Cameron PM - advocating for the formulation of a new 'UK Sustainable Development Strategy' by 2016. This is further to Mr Cameron's engagement with the UN High Level Panel (HLP) which sent its Post 2015 report to the Director General earlier this month. ...is working to bring civil society organizations together to produce shared submissions for each of the nine thematic consultations being organised by the UN on the post-2015 framework. The Global Campaign for Education will be coordinating the production of the Beyond 2015 position paper on education, through which we intend to influence both the UN thematic consultation on education, being organised by UNESCO and UNICEF, and the space for education rights in the broader post-2015 discussions. Back to education and the DESD end - a timely reminder from Simon Kemp HEA :We are approaching the end of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development ( campaigned for by the ETG). This is the time for increased activity and evidence-led positive outcomes from our work if we are to be in a position to rightly celebrate the Decade and have legitimacy in claims to continue progressive work in this field.
